ORIGINS

My name is Nina Kipper. I live and work in the Rhine-Main region, south of Darmstadt.

I am an artist, visual designer and illustrator. For over 20 years, through my brand COMYOUNICAKE, I have been supporting companies across Europe with their visual and strategic communication. This long-standing work with images, messages and emotional impact forms the foundation of my artistic practice.

In 2024, I began to focus on my own art. Since then, I have been exhibiting and selling my work. In my paintings, I combine conceptual thinking with intuitive, emotional working.

ARTISTIC POSITION

My artistic work navigates the tension between social reality and emotional processing. As an artist, visual designer and illustrator, I work with a keenly empathetic perception – it serves as a tool, a filter and a driving force all at once. I observe how global developments, political uncertainties and social dynamics affect people’s inner lives, and translate these impressions into a visual, emotional language.

Each collection begins with a clear conceptual starting point. Questions such as ‘How do we deal with fear?’, ‘What provides stability in times of uncertainty?’ and ‘What inner spaces do we need right now?’ form the framework of my work. I consciously define a painterly structure and a colour palette within which I move emotionally. The individual works emerge intuitively, driven by the particular mood that needs to be processed.

MATERIAL & GESTURE

I work with acrylics, oil pastels and pigments on canvas. Textured surfaces, layers and visible traces are central to my visual language. By scratching small illustrative elements into the surface, thoughts, symbols and inner images are inscribed – as subtle, often intimate signs.

The process remains visible: it reveals not only the result, but also the journey of emotional engagement.

My art is political in the sense of an attitude. I advocate for a positive, sustainable society – for sustainability, tolerance, equality, peace and a respectful approach to nature and humanity.

I do not address these themes in a declarative manner, but on an emotional level. I am interested in how they feel, how they move us, challenge us or inspire hope.

HOLDING SPACE

Each piece aims to offer a positive perspective: a space for empowerment, inspiration or reflection. My images invite viewers to feel safe, to realign themselves and to reflect on their own emotions. They are intended as visual safe spaces – places where viewers can gather strength, find peace or be encouraged to discover their own way of engaging with the world.

My art is not a retreat from reality, but a conscious engagement with it. It is my language – precise, empathetic and deeply connected to the question of how we, as a society, wish to move forward.
